Wolf Lord

A love poem with a difference!

Wolf Lord

I love your snake shade silverness
and your gleaming gold eyes bright.
I love your coat so shaggy
when you warm me in the night.
I love your sweet soft tongue
when you lean to me and kiss
me and lick me.  There is
nothing to equal this.
There is no finer leader,
there is no fairer king,
there is no kinder father
and no one else can sing
with such love and tenderness,
when the stars are in shadows
and the cold night grows,
and all the wolf pack knows
that you are my protector.
You'd defend me to the death
and your heart beats beside mine
is a blessed breath
of love, and life, and happiness.
Without you as my mate
my life would surely fail.
Just the very thought
makes my insides quail
for I so dearly love
to snuggle in your ruff,
and to nuzzle in your chest,
and to snorkle in your fluff.
I thank the spirits daily
for their treasured gift
and every midnight
when the day turns away, I lift
my muzzle to the moon
to sing forth my gratitude,
to proclaim my love for you
and to pray fervently
for eternity,
            with you.
