Kelmarsh Country Show
A lovely day out!
I went to Kelmarsh Country show on Sunday 5th of May and it was a great day out. I didn’t actrually expect the event to be as big as it was, so I was very pleasantly surprised.
As I go there, it was just in time to see the plane coming over and skydivers jumping. Sadly I did not get my camera out and take shots. I did consider it, but sometimes, you just have to enjoy a spectacle rather than trying to take photos!
I watched some gun dog trials. One event in the main arena had me doubled over with tears of laughter. It was a demonstration and descrption of what it involes to hunt wildfowl. It was the funniest thing due to the extreme political incorrectness of the commentary. I loved it! These days I find myself too terrified to open my mouth in case I offend someone, because everyone seems to be offended by everything and silence is the only safe way. But this presenter was saying the most hilarious things and it really pleased me no end to hear him. You have to laugh!
I did get my camera out for the motorcycle stunt event. No, this photo is not upside down!
Two lads gave a great display of stunts, with a running commentary that they gave themselves, which I found novel and I thought was such a good idea. It made it really personal. I especially lpoved the comment that “My mom doesn’t like this stunt". I felt for his mom, I really did! The lads were great.
There was live music, food stalls, craft stands, country fair stands and so on.
I did enjoy my seat for a while, not as young as I used to be, and this adorable little Westie called JD was keeping me amused. Especially when he was throwing his attidude around and I got a rain of grass kicked up over me. What a giggle. I had to take a photo of him, of course!
If you are a photographer who fancies an event with a bIt of everything to photograph, this is a good event for a little bit of everything.
