I photographed this gannet at the Farne Islands.

I went on one of the RSPB trips, and this little bird was nesting almost on top of the pathway. I shot from a little way back to try not to disturb her, but couldn’t help question her choice of nest spot!

These birds are quite hard to shoot with the white and black contrast, but getting the dark eye to show up in the dark head was beyond my skill level at that time. I corrected for it in photoshop.

If you are a photographer and want to know what I did, I selected the eye then used a colour adjustment layer, and all I did was change that layer’s blend mode to Linear Dodge (Add).
