Ham and Cheese Pastry Whirls
I was stuck for an idea for lunch one day, and I thought, “What the heck can a have?” and checked what was in my almost bare fridge. I had ham, tomato and cheese but didn’t fancy a sandwich, but what I did have was a roll of pre-made pastry!
I laid out the pastry and spread plain philadephia over it. I then placed down the ham in a layer and then sprinkled it with grated cheese. I put a pinch of paprika over it and then rolled the pastry roll back up. I cut that into 6, and baked the whirls until they looked cooked, about 12 minutes. I put chopped tomato on the side and sprinkled over some parsley.
I rolled the pastry back up the way it was originally in the packet, and my whirls were quite fat. That was perfect for lunch, but I thought, if I had rolled it lengthways, it would probably make a nice party snack too!
Ingredients
2 Tbsps Philadephia soft cheese
6 slices ham
1 cup grated cheese
Pinch paprika
Spread the philadephia over the pastry.
Layer with slices of ham. (About 6 slices will cover the pastry)
Sprinkle over the grated cheese.
Sprinkle a pinch or so of paprika over the cheese.
Roll the pastry back up.
Bake for 12-15 mins in a preheated oven at 180 C
EASY PEASY!
