In Basking in the Glory, I wanted to capture a moment of pure grace and strength. The image features model Callum Hanney, posing as a male angel in black combat pants with large black wings. His arms are outstretched, and he's looking up, as if soaking in rays of light from above. I love how the natural light pours down, creating this ethereal glow around him, giving the whole image a sense of divine serenity.
I didn’t use any composites here—what you see is pure, raw photography. The lighting was carefully controlled to bring out the textures in Callum’s wings and body, and the monochrome effect really helps highlight the balance between light and shadow. There’s this quiet power in his expression that I think really captures the essence of an angel, caught between earthly strength and celestial grace.
The black wings contrast so beautifully with the light, making them both majestic and imposing. It’s a combination of strength and vulnerability that I find really powerful. Callum’s posture and the way he looks upwards creates this almost otherworldly atmosphere, where you can almost feel the connection between him and whatever higher power he’s reaching for.
For me, this image is about capturing something fleeting and unspoken. It's about balance, light, and the quiet intensity of a moment. Basking in the Glory is one of those pieces where everything came together in a single shot, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. It’s a photograph that, to me, speaks volumes without saying a word. This is just one of the fallen angel series in my fantasy gallery.
