Autumn Squirrel

This is quite a sparse and simple image, but I love the feel of how it came out. Originally, I planned to put a little cat or dog under the tree, but then, I thought as it was an autumn tree a little squirrel would suit better.

I quite enjoyed layering the colours to create the light and dark autumn shades, and I did enjoy putting in the little squirrel. I painted far too much negative space on the right-hand side though, so I cut it down to a square image to get rid of all that. I like it square, so happy I am about that cutback. I am looking forward to seeing this one in a little white frame.
