Heart of a Kitten

A silver, glistening teardrop tumbles down,

the soft fluffy body slumps in sorrow.

A tiny kitten's heart is breaking

all because of one, sharp, smack.

Eyes shiny-bright with woeful wetness,

ears which droop, depressed.    

Depressed.

Playful paws all shut up tightly.

A curled-up ball of unhappiness.

An overwhelming sense of loneliness,

twitchy tail tucked between trembling legs.

Pitiful; the cry, from the depths of

the tiny kitten's heart.   

It's breaking.
