I attended HIPFest in 2018, and took part in a workshop hosted by Linda Wisdom, of Linda Wisdom Photography.
When I went to the workshop, it was with huge reluctance, as I did not enjoy street photography. Linda is a great teacher and was so inspiring. it wasn’t long before I swallowed my fears and disinterest and was enjoying myself immensely. Of course, it just had to be done, taking a shot of Linda whilst she was in the smoking fountain in Hull, taking a shot with a mobile phone. Street photography and I still have a long way to go in order to be good friends, but after this workshop I decided to, and have begun to, do a 100 strangers project. This also involves meeting people in the streets and taking their portraits.
The image I sneaked in of Linda on the day of the workshop was perfect for entering into the street photography competition. It won me a Highly commended, of which I am so proud, as street is a competition where I never thought I would ever get anywhere in. Thanks, Linda!
You should look Linda up if you want a course in street photography! I highly recommend her!
