Acacia Sunset

One of the things I hate about sunset paintings is how the blacks are often painted as a flat black colour. I decided to have a go and see if I could do a black silhouette, but not make it a flat black zone. I think i do prefer when there is some detail in the blacks, though perhaps I should have put something more interesting into the foreground instead of leaving it plain and flat.

The acacia tree felt weird to paint. Seems odd when the trees are totally flat-topped.
