100 STRANGERS PROJECT
100 Strangers is a tough project. I am out there, asking complete strangers on the street to allow me to take their portrait. I kid you not, it is simply terrifying! But, I have finally plucked up the courage to do this project, and have been asking people to allow me to take photographs of them. So far, the people I have asked have been lovely to me. What a relief!
I did ask some parents for permission to take a photo of their lovely little daughter. They interrogated me, (as they should), but took my card and gave consent for me to take the image. I don’t think I have ever been so frightened in all of my life!
There are many different approaches to this project. Some photographers include the background, some take their strangers to a more photogenic spot. Some take full length. For my collection, I am going to take close up images, exactly where my stranger is at that time. I am going to stick to monochrome, I think, so I have some sort of cohesion.
These images are all taken using my Fujifilm X-T2. These are not numbered/posted in the order that I took them. They are posted in the order that I processed them. I started this project fairly recently, so I have quite a way to go with it still. It is such a challenge, but I am looking forward to working my way through it.
Thank you to all of the strangers who have kindly let me take their images. If you have not contacted me already, please do contact me so I can give you a copy of your photo!
